Outside Sales Representative

Meridian Pacific Equipment, an employee owned company, has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Outside Sales Representative. This position will report to the Sales Manager and is responsible for generating new and used equipment sales within their assigned territory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales of light construction equipment by calling on prospects and established customer base offering a full range of products and services
  • Preparing quotes, making presentations, and assisting with negotiations as necessary
  • Prospecting for and qualifying leads
  • Educating customers about equipment through presentation and demonstration
  • Working with the inside sales and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Providing product advice to customers and distributing product literature
  • Maintaining records and preparing reports on sales activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of new & used light construction equipment outside sales experience (skid & track loaders, mini-ex's, telehandlers, aerial lifts, air compressors, & compaction equip)
  • Problem solver
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Technically / mechanically inclined
  • Effectively communicate with customers & co-workers in a professional manner

CANIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING DUTIES

  • Read, interperet, and follow maps
  • Drive for up to several hours at a time
  • Walk around unimproved jobsite terrain
  • Be exposed to various climates and temperatures for extended periods of time
  • Work around dusty and noisy jobsite environments
  • Travel up and down stairs as needed
  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs unassisted
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Move materials within a warehouse using carts, dollies, and hand trucks

REQUIREMENTS

  • Over the age of 18
  • Have a valid drivers license
  • Maintain a clean driving history
  • Willing to undergo a background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Be fluent in English and able to communicate clearly with customers

COMPENSATION

$90,000 - $110,000

SCHEDULE

Full Time
Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm

We are looking for a person with strong customer service skills. Experience in the compact construction equipment industry is preferred. A sales and customer service-focused role that needs someone with a solid technical background who has experience working with or selling parts in the compact construction (excavators, skid steers, loaders, aerial equipment) industry.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Inside sales of parts and attachments.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers and suppliers.
  • Support an efficient parts department workflow.
  • Order taking and invoicing.
  • Create purchase orders.
  • Tracking order shipments.
  • Submit parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame.
  • Ensure proper parts stocking levels to maximize customer satisfaction and optimize utilization of company resources.
  • Adherence to company standards while maintaining high productivity and positive morale.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ Years of experience in parts sales, preferably in the compact equipment industry.
  • Experience with Enterprise Software, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extremely organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Reliable professional with a strong work ethic.
  • Customer responsiveness and profitable decision-making abilities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30-4:30

Compact Equipment Mechanic

Mechanic's responsibilities include repairing and maintaining various types of aerial and earth moving equipment while primarily servicing rentals and customer owned equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Operate, Repair and Maintain compact construction equipment.
    • Excavators
    • Skid Steer Loaders
    • Track Loaders
    • Boom Lifts
    • Other types of earth moving equipment, as needed.
  • Trouble Shooting and Repair of Diesel Engines and cable operated attachments.
  • Welding, as necessary.
  • Skills in the care and use of hoists, hand and power tools employed in all phases of equipment mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Read and understand schematics (both hydraulic and electrical).
  • Perform annual certifications and inspections.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Capable of lifting arms above shoulder level to install and remove mechanical components as well as bend or stoop repeatedly over time.
  • Manual dexterity: Good hands and eye-hand coordination and the ability to manipulate tools and parts in areas of limited space.
  • Ability to move heavy objects of 50 pounds or more long distances.
  • Maintain logs of all work performed
  • Computer literate with the ability to process information.
  • Knows the hazards of the job and demonstrates safe work habits.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
  • Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
